Braintrust is a small and ambitious upstart slowly creating
the communication network of the future.
Braintrust started off as a simple idea. I wanted a place online that created the same atmosphere and ambiance that I felt as I sat with close friends around my kitchen table. I always wanted Braintrust to replicate the experience of that kitchen table, a place that felt intimate, safe, comfortable and open. And most importantly, a place that had only the people that were important.
While things like discussion forums, chatrooms and email have been around for very long, I never felt fully satisfied about the experience they delivered. They all felt so... sterile. So... not. fun. And certainly, not motivating.
And so, I built Braintrust. I built it by taking the timeless elements of a traditional discussion forum, mixing in the innovative features from popular social networks and then crafting a user experience that makes you feel like you're in good company. Braintrust is carefully designed to be a place where you can connect with the people that matter, share your ideas, and have meaningful conversations.
Braintrust has come a long way since its inception as just an idea in my head. Today, it is probably the simplest and best way to get a group of people connected and on the same page. However, it represents but a sliver of the types of things I want Braintrust to be able to do to truly help people communicate better.
As a company, we are focusing on bringing Braintrust to teams and companies that are looking for a better way to communicate. But my vision for Braintrust is much bigger.
I truly believe that small, contextual, tight-knit networks of people is where the future lies. Call it groups, tribes, teams, families or companies, what ever it is, I want every single one of these 'groups' to have a Braintrust, where they can truly connect and make great things happen.
